It is with a heavy heart that we report the first avalanche fatalities of this winter.
Snowmobiler Rex J. Andersen, 39, was caught, buried and killed in a slide near Palisades Peak, west of Jackson, Wyoming but just a couple miles inside the Idaho state line. Read more about the Palisades Peak avalanche here.
Jackson resident and skier Michael Kazanjy, 29, was caught and perished in a separate avalanche at Pucker Face about a half mile outside of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Read more about the Pucker Face avalanche here.
